The Indian Premier League is the most-watched T20 cricket league globally, where renowned international cricketers come together with the budding Indian players. In IPL, the current teams include Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. You can keep the captain and the team’s vice-captain consistently, and we need to change the other players according to their performance.
2. Importance of Indian Players:
Though international players have a significant role in IPL, we only have a limited number of them featuring in a cricket match. Therefore, you should mainly focus on the Indian players while creating an IPL team. Another reason for selecting Indian players is that you are more likely to know their performance and their skills.
3. Select Overseas Players Sensibly:
We can select four foreign players to feature in an IPL cricket team. Therefore, we need to choose them sensibly in their top form and perform well in almost every match. We should not select any player whose performance was inconsistent in some recent matches.
4. Focus On Some New Players:
As per the IPL rules, each team must have one new player. The new player is the one who has not yet played any international cricket matches. But we never know that the new player we choose in IPL for every team may be our best decision for winning the match.
Apart from IPL, some other cricket tournaments happen all over the world. Some include ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Caribbean Premier League, Abu Dhabi T10 League, etc. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is the international championship, and the new format would include twenty teams divided into four groups. West Indies and the United States of America will host the T20 World Cup in 2024. In contrast, India and Sri Lanka will host the T20 cricket tournament in 2026.
On the other hand, Caribbean Premier League is an annual T20 cricket tournament held in the Caribbean, where they choose six different teams to play the matches. They usually divide the contest into a group stage and a knockout stage. The six teams include Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Saint Lucia Kings, and Trinbago Knight Riders.
